Justin Bieber Reportedly Under Investigation For Laser Tag Scuffle

Teen idol was allegedly involved in a scrap in his native Canada.

Teen superstar Justin Bieber is reportedly involved in an investigation in his native Canada for an alleged assault at a Richmond, British Columbia laser tag center.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed Sunday (October 17) that an investigation was underway regarding an incident at a "Richmond entertainment facility" just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The father of a 12-year-old boy told authorities that his son was assaulted by another young male at the facility. The tween didn't need medical attention and walked away with "minimal injuries."

Since the suspect is under 18, police have not released the name of the accused party. However, many reports have stated that 16-year-old Bieber is being pegged as the attacker and the RCMP has stated, "We are aware of speculations concerning the identity of one of the parties allegedly involved."

A rep for Bieber did not respond to MTV News' request for comment at press time. Bieber, an avid tweeter, has not yet addressed reports either.

Unnamed sources have told TMZ that the incident went down at Planet Lazer, a laser tag chain that has a location in Richmond. The website, however, paints a different picture of the incident, reporting that Bieber was targeted by an overzealous laser tag participant who lobbed an anti-gay slur at the teen idol. When the 12-year-old stuck his hand out toward Bieber, the pop sensation apparently batted it away and then left the center.

The incident comes during a busy time for the "Baby" crooner. The singer announced Friday that his buzzed-about 3-D flick "Never Say Never" will be released in February. His illustrated memoir, "Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story," just hit shelves and he is helming a nail polish line. His chart-topping music continues to make an impact and the singer is up for four American Music Award trophies.

Last week Justin Bieber introduced us to Shawty Mane, his rap alter ego, when he rapped over Vado and Cam'ron's "Speaking in Tungs." Then rumors swirled that Bieber wasn't the true author of Shawty's lyrics, but rather that he had borrowed the bars from another MC named Tory Lanez.

"Oh word, well, you know, he's a singer, he's not a rapper," Vado told MTV News in response to the Bieber controversy. "Just the fact that he picked that beat out of all the beats was a good look. He definitely showed love, so I appreciate the love. If he was willing to do the remix, I would love it."

MC Lanez rhymes over Lloyd Banks' "Beamer Benz or Bentley" track, which was uploaded in March 2010, and spits "Getting hella dome, put Lady Gaga on my telephone/ Hella gone and your girl beat no metronome/ My new bitch she a yellowbone/ I buy her yellowstones because I like it when she got that yellow on."

On "Speaking in Tungs," which hit the Web last week, Bieber rhymes, "Call up Lady Gaga ... on my ... on my telephone/ Hella dome ... yeah ... my girl beats, no metronome/ My new chick she a yellowbone/ I buy her yellow stones, 'cause I like it when she got that yellow on."

Despite the questionable source of the Canadian pop star's bars, Vado is still interested in a remix.

"I've been definitely trying to reach out, haven't gotten nothing back, but you know, it's all good," he said. And what about comparing Bieber's Shawty Mane turn to the styles of Notorious B.I.G.? Vado says people have him all wrong.

"Nah, see, I never said ... shout to Ed Lover because he hit me with the 'come on son?' " said Vado with a laugh. "What I was saying, I wasn't saying that he sounded like him, or he flowed as great as Big. I wasn't trying to say that at all. What I was saying was, his flow, he was flowing. I can't remember the part, but he'd said a few lines that just the way he said it, to me it reminded me of the way Big would say it. But it's not what he said, it was just the way he delivered it.

"I wasn't trying to put him with Big at all. No disrespect," Vado added.

Early life

On 22 June 2010, it was announced that Simpson would participate in the Camplified 2010 Tour, along with other artists, touring across the United States. The tour began on 5 July 2010 and ended on 13 August 2010. It was also Simpson's first public tour. While on tour, Simpson performed a song called "Love So Strong." In an interview with Popstar Magazine, Simpson stated that his inspiration for the song was "A girl, back home. That's all I can say."

On 10 August 2010, Simpson participated in the Rock The Rapids Concert at the Fifth Third Ballpark, Michigan, as an opening act forB.o.B. On 14 August 2010, Simpson participated in the Shop Til You Rock Tour at the Oxmoor Center Mall in Louisville, Kentucky.

HOLLYWOOD, CA –Paramount Pictures, MTV Films, Insurge Pictures and Island Def Jam Music Group have jointly announced that superstar-recording artist Justin Bieber has signed on to star in his first feature film. Producing alongside Bieber will be his manager Scooter Braun, Island Def Jam Music Group Chairman LA Reid, and Grammy winning singer Usher. The movie will be released in the U.S on Valentine’s weekend 2011.

For the first time ever, Justin Bieber will tell his story from start to finish. The currently untitled movie will give fans an exclusive, VIP backstage pass into the life of Justin Bieber, showing audiences why the multi-platinum recording artist is one of the biggest stars in the world. The movie will also feature special 3D footage from his biggest concert ever, as part of his current My World 2.0 tour. Not only will fans get an intimate look at Justin’s life, but they will also get to be a part of the film and commemorate this experience with him.

Discovered on YouTube in 2007 after posting dozens of his own videos to the site, the young artist quickly skyrocketed to fame. Signing with LA Reid at the Island Def Jam Music Group in 2008, his debut-hit single, "One Time," was released worldwide in 2009. Chance's "Paparazzi" cover video was posted to YouTube on April 28, 2010, and for almost two weeks the video generated low views. At least two social websites, GossipBoy.ca and reddit.com, posted video embeds on May 10, 2010. Ellen DeGeneres first saw the video after Chance's brother, Tanner Chance, wrote into her show and sent the YouTube video.
