SUPERSTAR RECORDING ARTIST JUSTIN BIEBER TO MAKE FEATURE FILM DEBUT
HOLLYWOOD, CA –Paramount Pictures, MTV Films, Insurge Pictures and Island Def Jam Music Group have jointly announced that superstar-recording artist Justin Bieber has signed on to star in his first feature film. Producing alongside Bieber will be his manager Scooter Braun, Island Def Jam Music Group Chairman LA Reid, and Grammy winning singer Usher. The movie will be released in the U.S on Valentine’s weekend 2011.
For the first time ever, Justin Bieber will tell his story from start to finish. The currently untitled movie will give fans an exclusive, VIP backstage pass into the life of Justin Bieber, showing audiences why the multi-platinum recording artist is one of the biggest stars in the world. The movie will also feature special 3D footage from his biggest concert ever, as part of his current My World 2.0 tour. Not only will fans get an intimate look at Justin’s life, but they will also get to be a part of the film and commemorate this experience with him.
Discovered on YouTube in 2007 after posting dozens of his own videos to the site, the young artist quickly skyrocketed to fame. Signing with LA Reid at the Island Def Jam Music Group in 2008, his debut-hit single, "One Time," was released worldwide in 2009. He soon followed with his debut release, My World in November 2009, which was certified platinum in the United States, and made Bieber the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
As a featured MTV Discover and Download artist, he also presented at the 2009 Video Music Awards, which helped introduce him to an even larger audience.
His first full studio release, My World 2.0 was released in March 2010 and has since achieved even greater success; debuting at number one and certified platinum in less than two months of release in the United States, making Justin the youngest solo male artist to have a number 1 album on the Billboard Top 100 since Stevie Wonder in 1963. His album remained number 1 on the charts for four-weeks. He has over 8 million fans on Facebook, and over 4 million followers on Twitter, and his current hit “Baby” is the most viewed YouTube video of all time, at just over 260 million views. He has sold over 5 million albums worldwide to date.

Paramount Pictures will release the film under the newly created Insurge Pictures label, whose goal is to introduce film audiences to a new generation of web entertainment pioneers, whose unique and original content is helping to shape an exciting new approach to the movie going experience.
Along with the release of the film, Bieber will be forming his own production company. An Island Def Jam Music Group artist, Bieber is represented by manager Scooter Braun, Nick Styne at CAA, and Aaron Rosenberg and Sean Marks at Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox & Light LLP.
